Dog RPG Home Free funded in five days

Kicks Arfer

Things have been looking kind of sad over on Kickstarter lately. Aside from the huge names making games like Mighty No. 9, Yooka-LayleeBloodstained, and Shenmue 3, it seems like the ratio of successes to failures has increased in the video game arena. So it was with trepidation that I posted about Home Free initially; it looked compelling to me, but I can never tell if something is going to work for the general public.

As it turns out, I’m not the only one interested in the plight of the abandoned dog in that trailer. In a backer update today, developer Kevin Cancienne gave the news that the crowdfunding campaign hit its initial goal of $50,000 in only five days. A new stretch goal was added at $55,000 for teaching old dogs (and other dogs) new tricks.

So it’s nice to see there is still some steam in this whole crowdfunding thing. Backers just seem to be a lot more choosy these days.
