Whenever the “best” Final Fantasy discussion comes up, VI is almost always near the top for a reason. Then you start getting into uncharted territory, with games like V and VII getting thrown around. But one I see most often is IX, which is pretty much beloved by everyone.
At the same time, I don’t see anyone praising Zidane as part of the reason why they like IX. I’m similar in a way, in that I do like IX (I’d probably place it in the mid-upper echelon), but I don’t think of Zidane often, and cite Vivi and other cast members as my core reason for enjoying it.
I’m curious though, what people think of ol’ Zidane.
