Do you use motion controls in Splatoon?

I don’t want to learn

Earlier today, I was watching an interview conducted by the folks over at Nintendo Life with Splatoon co-director Tsubasa Sakaguchi, and it hit me — some people actually use motion controls in this game.

I still remember playing it for the first time at a Nintendo event, and they had the motion controls locked as the only option — and they wouldn’t tell me whether or not this would carry over into the retail edition. “Oh god,” I thought, “please don’t force me into this, I put up with the Wii’s lack of tactile options for so long.” My prayers were answered — the full game has an option for people who don’t prefer to wave the GamePad around like a maniac.

But I know gamers out there who prefer the motion settings, and actually excel with Gyroscope aiming. I totally get it, I’m just over them, and try to turn them off at every turn, including as recently as Majora’s Mask 3D. Are you one of those people who can’t live without motion controls?

I want to hear your thoughts.
