Nintendo sent out a press release celebrating Women’s History Month with details about the history of its strong female characters, but I think the company might have missed the point.

In the gallery below are pictures that were attached to the press release in which all the characters are exclaiming “We Can Do It!” Tetra and Toadette are giving a cheeky wink, while Bombette looks like she is more than timid. I’m not even sure what the age of consent is in the Mushroom Kingdom, so if I try to have sex with her will I find Reggie waiting to tell me to have a seat? Next time on the Nintendo Minute To Catch a Predator Edition, Destructoid’s Jed Whitaker shows up to Bombette’s house with a six pack of Natty Ice and a GameCube.

I find it comical and appropriate that Princess Peach isn’t in the list. She is almost always a damsel in distress and even in her own game, Super Princess Peach, her powers are based on being emotional. One such power is crying giant streams of tears. Stay classy, Nintendo.
