Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia is finally coming west

Game ain’t over until the fat lady sings

It’s been more than a year since we last heard anything on Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia and quite frankly I forget it even existed until I was notified of its impending western release. Debuting in Japan last year, Opera Omnia has players collecting heroes from across the Final Fantasy series to save a world in peril by taking down classic Final Fantasy enemies using a three character party system. We’ll also be able to play as villains apparently, finally letting me do my dream team-up of Terra, Kefka, and Edgar.

Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia will launch in the west for iOS and Android “soon” as a free-to-play title. Judging by the trailer above it doesn’t look that bad and I’ll be interested to see how the F2P system works. It also looks like it won’t run well on my phone so I guess this will be another mobile game that ends up on my iPad.
