Disney has just announced Disney Universe, a multiplayer action game where you’ll play dressed up in one of over 40 Disney character costumes. You’ll explore worlds based on Disney’s animated, live-action and PIXAR films. The press release says that players will select a character-based costume, with each costume offering a specific tool that changes and grows in power as players adventure through the game. And that’s about it.
Disney Universe is in the works for just about every online platform: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC and Mac. They’ve launched a new webpage you can poke around, but there’s not much in the way of information yet. So far it looks young, cute and a bit LittleBigPlanet-y.
Disney plans to release Disney Universe this fall.
