Diner Dash: Flo On The Go coming to Nintendo DS

Before I did the recent preview of Diner Dash for the Xbox 360, the series was one of those things I was aware was out there, but probably wouldn’t have been attracted to to play. After all, the art has that “played by ladies over 40 in their cubicles after lunch” look to it. Well, imagine my embarassment when I not only got addicted to  the 360 build I played, but also found myself seeking out other versions on the PC and DS to play. It might be a simple game, but it’s a good one.

PlayFirst, Inc announced this morning that Zoo Publishing, Inc would be publishing four of their most popular titles for Nintendo DS, including Diner Dash: Flo on the Go, Wedding Dash, Chocolatier and Dream Chronicles. Now, I might be a embarassed about my Diner Dash problem, but get this: games from the series have been downloaded over 400 MILLION times since they started in 2004. I guess I’m not alone here.

Anyway, I don’t know about the other three, but I can promise you I will be picking up Flo on the Go when it comes out this holiday season. Crack is still crack, whether it comes in casual or hardcore packaging!

ZOO PUBLISHING, INC. TO RELEASE TITLES FOR FOUR MAJOR GAMING FRANCHISES INCLUDING DINER DASH®

PlayFirst, Inc.’s Successful Casual Game Franchises Come to

Nintendo DS™ this Holiday Season

New York, NY (May 26, 2009)—After acquiring the rights to Empire Interactive’s intellectual property earlier this month, Zoo Publishing, Inc. today announced they will publish and distribute four titles from PlayFirst, Inc.  Zoo will be bringing four of the most popular franchises in casual games to Nintendo DS™ this holiday season—Diner Dash®: Flo on the Go, Wedding Dash®, Chocolatier®, and Dream Chronicles®.

The success of these four titles is astounding.  The Diner Dash® franchise has recorded over 400 million downloads since its inception late in 2004. Since then, PlayFirst has released three sequels to the original, solidifying the franchise as one of the most widely recognized brands in casual gaming.  Diner Dash®: Flo on the Go will feature everyone’s favorite waitress, Flo, as she takes on five all-new restaurants while “vacationing” in paradise!

Dream Chronicles®, Chocolatier®, and Wedding Dash® also by PlayFirst have flourished into thriving franchises.  Each game has had over 25 million downloads, prompting sequels that give gamers more of the sensational casual titles they love.

“PlayFirst has really done an incredible job building highly recognizable gaming brands using unique gameplay, rich characters, and strong storylines,” says Mark Seremet, CEO of Zoo Games, Inc.  “The popularity of these titles is really astounding, and we at Zoo are thrilled to expand the audience for these games by releasing them on Nintendo DS™.”

“At PlayFirst, we are continually looking for new ways to reach our fans through a variety of platforms and the prevalence of DS helps us extend that reach,” said Mari Baker, CEO of PlayFirst. “We look forward to a new working relationship with Zoo Publishing that will enable our established and future titles to see continued success within the handheld market.”
