Localization confirmed, Cyber Sleuth pack-in not so. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory will release in the west in early 2018 per Bandai Namco. It will feature Japanese voices with English/German subtitles. The PS4 version will be available both physically and digitally, but the Vita version is digital only in Europe.

The story follows Keisuke Amazawa, “the main protagonist accused of a crime he didn’t commit, who will have to dive into the Digital World and investigate to prove his innocence, even if that means joining a group of hackers and help them to solve the troubles threatening this mysterious universe…”

Although the Japanese version of the game will be bundled with the original game on PS4, the west will not receive such a bundle. Bandai Namco explains that the original game did not come out on PS4 in Japan, “hence the bundle.” The game not a sequel but “more of a side story within the Cyber Sleuth universe.”

Although I was never a Digimon fan, I felt guilty about not playing the original Cyber Sleuth. Too cool not to be on my backlog, maybe these games will make a Digimon fan out of me yet.
