The Japanese Capcom title Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom may be one of the biggest reasons for US residents buying imported Wiis (or doing unspeakable things to their consoles to allow them to play the game, cough cough). Featuring famous Capcom faces pitted up against the characters of Japanese animation studio Tatsunoko Production, gamers have been drooling over it for some time now — and hoping it would make it here for a U.S. release.
A thread on NeoGAF came to our attention by way of the sharp eye of Dtoid community member Phoenix Gamma that showed off pictures of a Nintendo Power that confirmed the game was coming to the U.S. Kotaku posted a larger photo of the issue as well (see above), and if you peer closely you can see the story was written by Chris Hoffman, who is most definitely employed by Nintendo Power.
While we can’t run screaming into the streets with joy just yet, all the signs point to proof, so all we have to do is wait. We’ve contacted Nintendo for comment, and let’s hope the answer is that this is real — it would be the greatest news to come out of this year’s E3 season for many a fighting fan. Cross your fingers!
