While Jasco Games’ Mega Man CCG is more or less ready to ship out the door, Mega Man The Board Game is still a work in progress. However, Jasco did go into some detail at Gen Con about how the game will progress and how it can be expanded.

The game is intended for two to five players, although expansions can increase that number to eight. Each player controls Mega Man (other heroes may be introduced later), and your goal is to be the first to stop Dr. Wily by clearing challenges and defeating Robot Masters, who will relinquish their powers. Movement and other play dynamics are managed by a custom card deck rather than dice. The base game focuses on Mega Man 1 elements, though further expansions covering the sequels can be played standalone or mixed and matched with one another.

Jasco has the game basics down and could start manufacturing sets right away, but it hopes to improve the game through a Kickstarter beginning next month. The campaign will increase the quality and add new features, such as miniature figurines — uncolored sculpts of Mega Man and Cut Man can be seen in the gallery below.

To keep up with the board game’s progress, be sure to follow its Facebook page. Also be sure to mention how Capcom has forsaken you, because Jasco is totally the same company as Capcom.
