Why?
First, because I’m utterly fascinated with both foreign girls AND spunky indie girls; Superbus lead Jennifer Ayache is the epitome of everything I love about women, and as soon as I’m done with this Cherry Coke, I’m going to make her my wife.
Second, that video proves why Guitar Hero III trumps Rock Band in Ol’ Nexy’s Book o’ Games. Not only does RB lose points for having fewer (good) tracks than GHIII, but GHIII is the first videogame in almost a decade to introduce me to a new artist who I immediately develop a strong desire to leave my country for.
Roger Daltrey never made me want to leave America, though in all fairness, David Caruso sorta does.

GRAW 2 (Thanks black friday) Omega 5, ICON, Ace Combat 6, Hushgush had sex with my turkey while I slept, and a ton of old XBLA games. Oh snap! Catan and Heavy Weapon!
Topher Cantler:
Lots and lots of Rock Band, a little 1943, some Contra 4, and Ikaruga. Ron’s turkey was the best poultry I ever had.
Jim Sterling:
I finally finished the Half-Life 2 games in their entirety, and have been spending the rest of the week marching through Bladestorm again, struggling on Dynasty Warriors Gundam again, and killing “insurgents” (Muslims) on Call of Duty 4 … again.
Might be time for a new game … and Mass Effect is begging me to buy it.

Even though it goes against the type of gamer I am, I played Halo 3 with the family on Thanksgiving. Don’t worry though, I promptly re-equipped my pocket protector and got back to work on Persona 3. Also, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja is a game I’ve been assigned to review, so I’m knee-deep in that.

Wow … uh, let’s see: Rock Band, Flynn DeMarco’s copy of Mass Effect, Neves (DS), WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 (Wii/DS/PSP), Assassin’s Creed, Soldier of Fortune: Payback, Geometry Wars Galaxies , and Super Mario Galaxy. Just a few games.

Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings, Taiko Drum Master DS and Heavenly Sword.

Against better judgment I gave Assassin’s Creed a shot, and Anthony’s review was spot on. Pretty as hell to look at but once you’ve played 15 minutes, you’ve played the whole game. Ah, well — there’s always Call of Duty 4.
Faith:
Early mornings with nothing to watch but Viva Piñata cartoons has me going back to play the game again. I started over from the beginning to make it easier though, since I can’t remember what I had done in the game previously.
I’ve also been playing Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Brain Age, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, My Sims, Boogie and Puzzle Quest.
Leigh Alexander:
I’m choking down Fire Emblem because I have to review it and remembering why I never, never play tactical games; playing Super Mario Galaxy at a slow clip, because I’d rather play Mass Effect, wherein my character is ridiculously hot and I love her. I only play these three, though, when you can pry my PSP out of my hands because I’m finally doing decently at Dracula X Chronicles, and now that I unlocked Symphony of the Night I play it for hours a day because it is literally like one of the best games ever.
Oh, oh yeah, and Undertow, which is pretty fun considering I hate stick shooters, and I think it would be rad to play against someone else.

On Tuesday I spent 11 straight hours playing Rock Band and drinking booze with LostCrichton.
Remember 1998? Remember how Armageddon and Deep Impact hit theaters almost simultaneously? That’s how I feel about the Guitar Hero III vs Rock Band question. Both games are rife with American rock, both films had stories about large rocks destroying life on Earth (and how it might affect America), but in the end one of them had Elijah Wood and the other had Bruce Willis (who, for the purposes of this metaphor, will represent the superior soundtrack in GHIII). Once that’s taken into consideration, even with the presence of Ben Affleck (metaphorically GHIII‘s lack of excess instruments, also metaphorically the bomb in Phantoms) and that shitty Aerosmith song (representative of the shitty Aerosmith song in GHIII), GuitArmageddon III comes out on top. You can’t argue with math.
Oh, and did I forget to mention that Morgan Freeman is an unlockable character in Rock Band? (He isn’t. That would have been a lie.)

Thanksgiving made me thankful for gaming after demolishing Half Life 2: Episode 2 and taking on Gears of War Co-Op with my bro. Not to mention the sweetness that is Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. Zombie blasting never felt so good. And lastly, Ghost Squad is incredibly addicting with online rankings and incredibly delicious controls. It has been a good week.
Dyson:
I’ve been slacking, it seems. All I’ve really had time for this week is more Super Mario Galaxy. I’m about to play some of this Assassin’s Creed that I’ve been hearing about, just to see what all anger is for.
On a retro tip, I recently re-beat Mega Man 2 for the NES. MM2 is my favorite of all the 8-bit ones, only because of the Leaf Shield weapon. Why is it my favorite? Who knows. I’m weird like that.
Gameboi:
I’ve barely played Assassin’s Creed, but it has less to do do with what everyone else is saying about it, and more to do with a shit-ton of great games out right now. Between Super Mario Galaxy and Mass Effect, my game time is all but tapped out… and I love it.
Dick McVengeance:
I’ve been home, so this week has just been handheld stuff: Pokemon Diamond, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, Silent Hill Origins, and a bit of Guilty Gear Judgement.
