Destructoid’s games of the week for 03/11/07: So dreadfully late edition!

Recommended Videos

I’m sorry guys. This last week at GDC raped my brain and pillaged my body and I only just now woke up. Like some kind of Thompsonian freak-out, my only memories of this last week consist of being attacked by bats. Of course, that alone won’t stop me from bringing you the games the editors are playing this week, even if I am a day late.

Also, there’s no joke here. Sorry to disappoint, but I’ve given up comedy for Lent and I’m trying really hard to be a good Christian. Yes, it’s all to impress a girl, but none of you ever wear cute little leather skirts for me. You selfish bastards.

Oh, I almost forgot, I want to give a shout-out to my boys at Perpetual. If you cats ever make it up to Portland, look me up, and we’ll go feed some damn sea lions.

How I regret not feeding those sea lions …

Colette Bennett:
All I played this week were exclusive unreleased titles like Pokemon Pearl, Super Paper Mario, etc, etc because I spent the week at GDC.

Taste the envy, fuckers.

Nex:
The only game I got a chance to play at any length this week was Virtua Fighter 5 on the PlayStation 3 at GDC. After getting my ass handed to me in Tekken, I opted for a game that I could actually play for shit, and I spent twenty minutes or so making children and aspiring Korean game developers doubt their masculinity. I stand by my call that it’s just a glossier VF4, but that should be enough to sell a couple hundred thousand copies.

Robert Summa:
I’m playing the game Please Don’t Die of Alcohol Poison.

hushgush:
I’m finally playing Crackdown, which I had to rent because the US postal service moves slower than a snail that’s been stapled to the floor.

Dick McVengeance:
I’m playing Lunar Knights right now, since I only brought my DS home with me. I’m stuck at a stupid guantlet run. God, I hate those dogs and those giant chickens.

Fronz:
Pokemon Fire Red. Yeah, that’s right.

Nick Brutal:
I dabble in Crackdown, although my progress has been stalled because my Xbox Live Gold service expired and it’s not half as fun to play single player (*cough*someone give me a code*cough*).

Also, a few weeks ago (three months ago, actually), I found a sealed copy of Disaster Report for the PS2. I started playing that last night and I’m not sure what to think of it yet, so I’ll get back to you on that one.

Grim:
Lately I’ve been playing lots of Live Arcade games like Alien Hominid HD, Worms, and even New Rally X. I also picked up MotoGP ’06 and Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland; the first is extremely hard and the second just plain sucks.

Niero:
Between pockets of being on a mission to evangelize everyone into becoming children of Beat Tengoku, I also played the upcoming Ubisoft Jam Sessions game Jam Sessions on the DS at SXSW. Robert and I also spent some quality time with Calling All Cars at GDC: Jaffe’s new arcade style timekiller and wanted to kick the TV between sessions of a new upcoming puzzle game on the PS3 network. Aside from that, a little Super Paper Mario and GOW2. I didn’t get to see any new Assasin’s Creed like I had hoped, but it was a killer week nonetheless.

Cybernetic Tiger Z:
I’ve been playing Super Mario Super Star Saga for the last week. It’s a great GBA title. I played it a long time ago and I don’t remember it being nearly 14 hours long. Very long for a GBA title.

Faith:
Still playing Psychonauts – this game is wicked! Been real busy this week – working on some stuff for the upcoming Dtoid 1 year celebration.

What have you guys been playing this week? I’m going back to drinking Nyquil and praying for the world to stop bleeding into itself. I hope your liver is happier than mine.

I'm Nex. I used to work here but my love of cash led me to take a gig with Wired. I still keep an eye on the 'toid, but to see what I'm really up to, you should either hit up my Vox or go have a look at the Wired media empire.
