Destiny 2 got its final big update a few months ago in June. Later on, Bungie said things were actually looking up, and that the company plans to restore massive chunks of content in the form of vaulted campaigns, locations, and raids.
And now, Bungie is once again hiring new developers to work on Destiny 2. While nothing has been officially confirmed, apart from that video announcing content restorations, it seems the company is keen on developing D2 further, especially considering how well it performs even though it’s technically on life support.
As we can see on Bungie’s careers page, the company is looking for two Senior UX designers who would specifically work on Destiny 2 to “delight millions by designing amazing player interactions.”

While there are no concrete hints toward any particular project the UX designers would work on, it’s still nice to see Bungie putting in the effort to elevate the Destiny 2 experience. In case you didn’t get the memo, Destiny 2 was declared clinically dead, or in gaming terms, it had reached its “end-of-development” stage.
That means the game can still be played but will no longer receive any content updates going forward. Bungie instead relegated resources to Marathon, but despite doing so, the game continues to decline in player numbers, at least on Steam. That’s a real shame because, as I’ve written before, Marathon is one of the best-looking games of our generation, and honestly, it should’ve been a singleplayer title.
At any rate, it seems Destiny 2 still has a future. Or we can at least cope that it does.
