Destiny 2: Forsaken’s raid won’t launch until 10 days after the expansion’s release

Destiny players are used to waiting for raids. Usually, a raid will go live a few days after an expansion launches. For Destiny 2‘s Forsaken add-on, players will have to wait more than a few days.

Bungie has just confirmed that Forsaken‘s “Last Wish” raid will go live on September 14 — a full 10 days after Forsaken releases on September 4. Senior designer Joe Blackburn says the delay is because “players [will] need more than just three days to prepare for the incredible challenges of Forsaken‘s raid.”

This gap isn’t completely unprecedented, but it’s also the longest Destiny players will be left raid-less. When Destiny 2 launched, it took seven days for the “Leviathan” raid to go live. If this is the expansion that actually fixes Destiny 2, most people probably won’t mind waiting a few extra days for a raid.
