Those wondering about the road ahead for Destiny 2 and its next expansion might be getting some answers next month. Bungie has announced a new Destiny 2 showcase for Aug. 24, 2021.

All we’ve got so far is one cryptic tweet with the tagline “survive the truth.” It’s been a while for me, so I’ll let the Destiny lore experts pick apart what else this image might be teasing.

What will be interesting to see is the road ahead for Destiny 2, now that its upcoming expansion The Witch Queen has been pushed back to 2022. Last year, Bungie mapped out two years of Destiny 2 content, with a bunch of features and narrative efforts planned across The Witch Queen and the expansion to come after that, Lightfall.

Destiny 2, and Destiny as a whole, has kept on moving and evolving over the years, so it’s always neat to see how Bungie is going to keep the experience alive and changing. We’ll see if the roadmap can rope me back in, but either way, I’m looking forward to seeing whatever Bungie is planning for the future of Destiny 2.
