Not only do we have the release date for the second Death Stranding title, but we also have more information about all the editions. This guide will list all the important information that Kojima Productions revealed to the public.

Death Stranding 2 release date

Death Stranding 2 will be released globally on Thursday, June 26, 2025. The date was officially confirmed by the following X post. This is the first time that we have had confirmation about the release date, although the game was expected to be released in 2025.

Please note that the pre-orders will go live on March 17, 2025, and the following section has the details about the different editions.

Death Stranding 2 Editions

The game will be available in three different editions.

  • Collector’s Edition
  • Digital Deluxe Edition
  • Standard Edition (Digital and Boxed)

Pre-ordering any of the three available editions will include four bonus in-game items when you start your adventures in Death Stranding 2.

  • Battle Skeleton: Silver LV1
  • Boost Skeleton: Silver LV2
  • Bokka Skeleton: Silver LV3
  • Custom Hologram: Quokka early unlock

Compared to the Standard Edition, both the Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition will have more in-game goodies. The Collector’s edition will also offer physical items as part of the package. Both the Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition also offer early access that begins on June 24, 2025.

Once the pre-orders are live, we will have more ideas about the prices of the different editions. It will be interesting to see whether there will be a Director’s Cut later down the lane. We received one for Death Stranding with a lot of extra content.

Additionally, if you’re someone who cares a lot about the lore, it might be a good time to play the first part. The second chapter is expected to be a direct continuation of the events, so it’s a good idea to stay updated on the story.
