Dead Space film in the works, had better be gory

According to a Variety report, Eagle Eye director D.J. Caruso is set to the direct an motion picture based on Visceral Games’ Dead Space. The production of the film is in its very early stages; there isn’t even a script or studio attached just yet.

The Variety report also mentions that Electronic Arts “is working on the second and third installments” of the series, likely referring to the upcoming Dead Space: Extraction and the more-or-less confirmed Dead Space 2.

This isn’t the first Electronic Arts/Visceral property to eyed for the silver screen — word had leaked earlier in the year that a film based on the upcoming Dante’s Inferno was also being considered.
