Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is getting a free-to-play edition

On May 16 in Japan

Soon there will be no need to import Dead or Alive Extreme 3 — you can just download a free version with your Japanese PSN account (though you will miss out on nabbing the Asia region version that has English subtitles).

Koei Tecmo has announced that there will be a demo-like edition of the game, which will include Kasumi, every mode, and the base island. Characters (1,100-1,200 yen each) and the Casino (2,000 yen) will be premium purchases. You can pick this up on May 16 if you’re curious.

I still haven’t checked this one out, but I was never really fond of the series (it’s a little boring), having played the original at its launch — even if “Come On Over” was one of the best soundtrack inclusions to date.
