Dead Island movie is a go, Lionsgate acquires rights

That badass trailer worked! Movie get. Lionsgate announced today that it has acquired the film rights Dead Island, and that they’ve begun working on a movie.  Sean Daniel (“The Mummy”) will produce the zombie flick, says LA Times.

A statement from Lionsgate says that the movie will be “an innovation of the zombie genre because of its focus on human emotion, family ties and non-linear storytelling.”

So what they’re telling me is that it will be as much of a “beautiful mess” as the game was?

A film on this game could be cool, but somehow I get the feeling that it won’t measure up to that original game trailer. Hopefully I’m wrong.
