Dead Island Map App is a Dead Island map … as an app

Do you hate pushing a single button on your controller to bring up a convenient in-game map? Do you instead wish that you could pull out your iPhone and boot up an app every time you wanted to look at it? Well now you can! The Dead Island Official Map App has hit iTunes today, and is exactly that — a Dead Island app that’s a map.

Amazingly, they’re charging $2.99 for this thing, making it one of the most amazing wastes of money in iTunes history — and with a store that has Jeff Dunham apps, that’s saying something! I mean, the maps are right there in the game!

It doesn’t interact with your game in any way, and apart from revealing hidden locations — which will be on GameFAQs in a few hours anyway — there’s no real edge that it offers. Still, if you want to pay three bucks to look at drawings of fictional maps, be my guest.

At least it’s a universal app. Thank Christ for that!
