Dead Island: Definitive Collection embalms both games on May 31

Banoi is now High Definition(er)

There are too many metaphors to make about a zombie game coming back to life just a scant few years after its original release, so I’ll do my best to refrain from here on out. No promises, though. Dead Island and its expansion Riptide will be packaged into one sewn-together cadaver called the Dead Island Definitive Collection. Both games will have improved textures, lighting, and framerate. There will also be a sidescrolling beat-’em-up/endless runner called Retro Revenge, which you may remember Kyle mentioning last month.

The announcement trailer claims that this is “the ultimate zombie game series,” which amuses me when Techland’s own Dying Light is vastly superior (though I admit the tropical island setting was fun). According to Best Buy, the remastered collection will run you $39.99. If you’re ready to return to Banoi, Dead Island Definitive Collection will be available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 31.
