Dead Island 2 expansion pass price & what’s included

Hereā€™s the deal with the Dead Island 2 expansion pass

Recommended Videos

As a ā€œAAAā€ video game, Dead Island 2 boasts fancy graphics and many modern bells and whistles. It also, of course, features an expansion pass at launch. The expansion pass appears to resemble other ā€œseason passā€ deals you see with modern video games. That said, youā€™re still wise to look into what exactly included is in this pack before dropping cash on it. Here are the details.

How much does the Dead Island 2 expansion pass cost?

Soā€¦ weirdly, we donā€™t know.

As of writing, the Dead Island 2 expansion pass is only bundled with the Gold Edition of the game. The price of this edition varies by platform, but Gold Edition consistently costs $20 more than the base game. In other words, we can expect the expansion passā€™ value to be just that: $20.

We can virtually guaranteed that Deep Silver will sell the expansion pass standalone later. The alternative is just too silly to even consider. Still, weā€™ll have to wait for official confirmation of the expansion passā€™ price point.

What is included with the Dead Island 2 expansion pass?

We donā€™t exactly know the answer to this one, either. The official description of the expansion pass includes the following:

ā€œEmbark on two brand new chapters of the main story, coming after release, featuring new missions, foes, weapons, abilities and areas of HELL-A to explore.ā€

Without more information to read, we canā€™t tell you if the new story chapters are substantial expansions or just small side attractions. In other words, itā€™s up to you to decide if the expansion pass is worth the cost. Do you have faith that youā€™ll feel satisfied with these extra Dead Island 2 missions, or would you prefer to wait until reviews come out for them? Pick the approach that you feel most comfortable with.
