David Beckham has signed on as the brand ambassador for EA’s Sports Active 2, says the Twitter feed for EASActiveGirl. Judging by the new trailer up at the game’s official webpage, the kicky ball star has something to do with the title, though we’ll have to wait to hear how involved he is. “Brand ambassador” sounds like spokesperson, but I’m sure they’ll work him into the game somehow.

We know that Beckham will be featured in advertising and retail displays in Europe and Australia.

“EA SPORTS Active is impressive and includes many elements that I have seen throughout my football career,” says David Beckham.  “I’m excited to collaborate with EA SPORTS who have a great track record in developing authentic and credible sports products and games over the years.”

He should work his girl Posh Spice in the game as an unlockable trainer. On second thought, not everyone would be down for that. Our own Nick Chester says that “she looks like a skeleton with boobies.”
