Darth Vader and Yoda in Soul Calibur IV!? [Updated]

The other editors are either picking their jaws up off the floor or huddled next to each other crying at the sweet sacrilege, but currently I seem to be the only one in the Destructoid staffroom laughing his arse off at this epic piece of news: Darth Vader and Master Yoda are going to be new characters in Soul Calibur IV!

I know what you’re thinking, this is either a sick joke or Namco Bandai has gone too far, but face facts, people. Everybody with a heart loved it when Link appeared in the GameCube version of Soul Calibur II and this is no more ridiculous than that. In fact, this is the kind of ridiculous that deserves a party in the street. Go check out 1UP and see their screenshots of the lightsabre-wielding pair in action, and try not to hurt yourselves when you pass out in shock.

This is the greatest thing to happen in the history of videogames and you know it.

[Update: Kotaku has the skinny, and the skinny is that you will only get one character depending on which system you own. The Xbox 360 version will have Yoda, while the PS3 is lucky enough to have the Sith Lord himself, Darth Vader.]
