Dark Souls III developers: ‘Poise is working as intended’

Uhhhhhh

Mechanically, Dark Souls III has it going on. Coupled with the 60 FPS on PC, it’s one of the smoothest Souls games, if not the smoothest, to date. But there’s just one major holdup — the poise stat (I’ve even see some of you talk about it in comments for recent news stories).

Fans have felt like this stat was essentially useless, whereas in past games it made you more resistant to events like getting staggered. Not so, according to Bandai Namco. Speaking to Kotaku, evidently the stat is “working as intended,” and it’s merely “situational.” They strangely didn’t bother to elaborate from there so we just have to…trust them?

Remember, poise counts!
