Daft Punk goes 8-bit chip funk with Da Chip remix albums

Recommended Videos

While I’d never considered it before, I don’t think there are many artists out there more deserving of an 8-bit remix album than Daft Punk. I’m no expert on their work, but I have always loved their signature blend of heavy electronic funk with a catchy melody. If you happen to be like me and aren’t acquainted with the majority of Daft Punk’s repertoire and are a fan of chip music, Da Chip Volumes 1 and 2 may be a great way to find a new appreciation for the group as the two releases together present a combined 24 remixes courtesy of some of the top names in the chip music scene.

You’ll find hits including “Da Funk,” “Around the World,” and “One More Time” along with several other standout tracks, and best of all, both collections are free from the Da Chip home page. My personal favorites are “Son of Flynn” by Rushjet1 on Volume 1 and “Veridis Quo” by EvilWezil on Volume 2.

Check ’em out and let us know which tracks are your favorites. Are there other 8-bit remixes of commercial music out there that you think people ought to know about?

You can check out Volume 2 on Soundcloud after the jump!
