Cyberpunk 2077 was teased by CD Projekt Red with a short CGI trailer five years ago to the day. Since then, well, it’s been pretty quiet on the Cyberpunk news front.

CD Projekt Red made it clear that while they had plans to work on Cyberpunk 2077 in the future, their main focus was going to be finishing off the Witcher 3 DLC packs before even starting work on the new project.

Well, it’s been five years, and all we have to go on is still the original trailer.
Until today that is… Citizens of Destructoid, we have a tweet.

There you have it, a literal sign of life. I initially thought that they just forgot the password to the account and finally dug through enough Post-it notes to find the right one, but the whole “five years to the date since the first teaser” aspect makes me think this is all part of a plan.

I don’t really care, I just want more info about this, as science-fiction and me go together like peanut butter and jelly. I hope this is a sign that we will see more news, but remember what Red said, “Hope is a dangerous thing.”
