CD Projekt Red has released a statement today, revealing that an unidentified individual or individuals are in possession of internal files that belong to the studio. While the exact contents have not been disclosed at this time, it has confirmed that some of the files did belong to its upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077.

The culprit has made a ransom demand to the company, threatening to release the files if they are not met. CD Projekt Red will not be complying with the demands, however it has issued a warning as a result. Although the documents from Cyberpunk 2077 are from early designs of the game, they are not representative of its current state, and the developers are urging users to avoid any information about the game that does not come directly from them at this time.
