Cute-named Bitsquid engine licensable for PS4 development

I just want to pinch its streamlined, low-cost cheeks

With a name as cute as Bitsquid, you would think the company might use something to show off the engine’s capabilities other than a craggy, stern-faced old man, but, alas, this is the corrugate-faced world we live in. That being said, it is quite a nice looking weathered face, straight out of the cool-looking War of the Roses.

The now PlayStation 4-licensable Bitsquid engines boasts a “lean code base (estimated 10x smaller),” “fast workflows and sub second iteration on multiple devices simultaneously,” and being “usable for a large variety of games and platforms.” I’m not terribly savvy when it comes to the finer details of engine architecture, but more options are for developers are good, especially lower cost, more efficient ones, as Bitsquid claims.

Bitsquid has more details on its website, including licensing details and screenshots of other projects that use the engine. No itty bitty squids, far as I can tell.
