Crossover fighter Jump Force gives Bleach fans some love

Ichigo, Rukia, and Aizen join the roster

Bandai Namco is adding a little Bleach to the manga-infused fighting-game stew that is Jump Force. Today, the publisher announced the arrival of Ichigo, Rukia, and Aizen as playable characters.

The game’s story sees iconic larger-than-life characters enter into the real world, which helps explain the elements of realism in the visual style. Bandai Namco has also confirmed another stage, Hong Kong, which is said to blend the real Hong Kong with aspects from the world of One Piece. This game is mad.

I hopped on for a quick round of Jump Force at Microsoft’s E3 shindig, and while I had no real grasp of the controls or mechanics, the spectacle of Frieza smacking down Naruto did make me light up.

Even if this game isn’t necessarily aimed at me, I’m curious to see how the roster will fill out.
