Jason Hayes’ (World of Warcraft) band, Critical Hit, and Nobuo Uematsu’s (Final Fantasy series) band, The Earthbound Papas, will tag team, co-headlining upcoming Orlando Nerd Fest 2014, set for August 9 in Orlando, Florida.

Critical Hit will perform at 10 p.m., bringing their arrangements of songs from Skyrim, Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon, World of Warcraft, Tetris, and more to Stage A. The Earthbound Papas will follow with their set of classic rock performances of popular Final Fantasy tunes. That’s a lot of awesome for one stage. Maybe too much!

As a fellow fan of Nobuo Uematsu and his timeless scores, I am honored to co-headline our first Orlando Nerd Fest with his high profile band The Earthbound Papas,” said Jason Hayes. “We cannot wait to share what we’ve been working on with gaming enthusiasts and music fans attending the show.”

Destructoid has the exclusive on Critical Hit’s third music video, an arrangement of the Tetris theme. Watch on as they rock out at night on top of a skyscraper, lit only by spotlights.

You can find more on the band, as well as links to their digital and physical albums on the Critical Hit official website.
