Could this Bellanoir raid drop be a hint for future updates in Palworld?

Dragon or no Dragon, exciting things are happening in Palpagos

The latest Palworld update dropped barely 24 hours ago, adding in an entirely new Pal who can be fought in order to get rare drops and even eggs. One of these drops has me wondering what may be coming next and with Pocketpair confirming a summer update, it may come sooner than you think.

0.2.0.6 has been the biggest patch to date for Palworld, but further updates are already in the works. Included at the bottom of the patch notes tweet, Pocketpair said they’re planning “a larger, more content-packed update for summer 2024. Enjoy never-before-seen scenery and thrilling adventures on a new island, home to many new pals”, along with more buildings, weapons and tower bosses on the way.

One of the items from the new Bellanoir raid has got me thinking, thanks to a particular perk:

The Witches Crown, a possible drop from Bellanoir in Palworld

The Witch’s Crown, a legendary headpiece that offers 30 defense and 80 health alongside high durability, is a drop that can be gained through successfully defeating Bellanoir. While the stats aren’t really anything special, the added ‘Dragon Damage Reduction’ buff caught my attention.

While any kind of damage reduction buffs are moderately useful in the open world, most battles can be successfully faced without any special additions to your gear. However, due to this being a raid drop and the confirmation that Bellanoir is one of many raid bosses who will eventually be added into the game, this buff would be incredibly useful against a new Dragon type Pal. Admittedly the buff isn’t great—only reducing Dragon damage by 10%—but every little helps, right?

There’s already at least one commonly known unreleased Dragon type Pal who this headpiece would be effective against: Dragostrophe. This Pal featured in the original trailer for Palworld, before the game had to be remade in a new gaming engine, so the Witch’s Crown has sparked hope that maybe we’ll see it added in future.

In other news, there have been a couple of hotfixes already issued to rectify issues caused by the update. The Egg Incubator issue was resolved very quickly, meaning that you no longer need to destroy Egg Incubators and rebuild them in order to use them.

Pocketpair have also deployed a fix for dedicated server issues, during which a timeout would occur when connecting. This should no longer be an issue, but if you have a dedicated server that was experiencing this glitch, it’s recommended that you refresh the server in order to implement the update.
