Mega Cat Studios, Destructoid’s officially unofficial suppliers of kickass retro games on retro consoles, is at it again! This time, they’re offering up a Sega Genesis copy of their hit title Coffee Crisis, as well as a branded actual bag of coffee to help keep you up all night playing it!
Coffee Crisis is an old-school side-scrolling beat-’em-up featuring everyone’s favorite stimulant, coffee! I’ll let the experts at Mega Cat tell you about it:
The Smurglian race has come to Earth and they’re not leaving until they steal our four most prized commodities: metal music, the best coffee, cat videos, and all the WiFi. Challenge them through unique and innovative levels inspired by real-life areas in Pittsburgh, PA. Join Black Forge Coffeehouse baristas Nick and Ashley, two galaxy gladiators called to arms to stop this madness and remove the Smurglian threat from Earth.
The Smurglians can have the cat videos…but if you don’t help our heroes fend off against the alien-assimilated elderly, bros, cowgirls, and country western singers, who knows what could happen!
Ugh, I just hate country western singers.
To enter for your chance to win, tell us your favorite weapon in beat-’em-up games. Mine has always been the pepperoni stick you find behind dumpsters in the third level. There’s nothing quite like slapping street toughs upside the head with cylindrical meats to save the Earth from villainy and scum. Brings a tear to my eye every time.
This is a real physical game that works on real physical Sega Genesis consoles, that also comes with real physical coffee you can pour into your real physical body. Since it’s real, you must have a US shipping address in order to win. Our winner will be drawn on Thursday, October 4.
