Probably by design, most of the patch notes for the 1.7.a update of Content Warning are pretty vague. We’ve had the opportunity to play with all the new additions so we could break them down for you in more detail.

Reporter Mic

The new Reporter Mic item adds a useable microphone that players can use to make things louder. Without the Reporter Mic, you have to get pretty close to other players when recording to properly pick up what they are saying on your recording. However, with the new Reporter Mic item you can use it yourself to boost your voice in the recording regardless of where you are, or extend it out to other players to pick up what they are saying more loudly.

Sounds Player

The Sounds Player device is another useable item by players. The Sounds Player comes loaded with 21 different sounds such as “Boo”, “Cheer”, “Laugh”, and “Crickets”. You can scroll through all 21 sounds and then click to play that sound, allowing you to add fun sounds to your recordings before uploading to Spooktube.

Projector in the garden

A new Projector can be found in the back part of your garden at your home in Content Warning. There is an actual Projector and a new screen that is by default a static green screen. Interacting with the Projector turns it on and gives you two knobs to cycle through different images to display on the Projector, including city backdrops and other interesting graphics. You can use the projector to help film scenes for your recording.

All other update 1.7.a changes and fixed

The rest of the changes to Content Warning in the 1.7.a update were mostly quality of life or balance changes. Some emotes have had their prices adjusted, making them a bit more affordable overall. For example, the most expensive Ancient Gestures 1 emote used to cost $1,000 but has been cut in half to just $500.

Also, a new inverted mouse setting has been added to those who like to look up when they scroll down and look down when they scroll up.

A bug that allowed more than one player to pick up a disk after tossing the video camera in the bin has been fixed. Previously, if more than one player interacted with the disc while in its holder at the same time, it would generate a copy of the disc for each player. Now, however, the disc is one single entity and only one player can pick it up.

Finally, the file size and overall disk usage from saving recordings on your computer has been decreased, so you can save more videos without it hogging up your available hard disk space.
