Up to four players can participate in this quest with you. However, it’s totally possible to do it all solo.

How to complete Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo event quest in MH Wilds

In the Yian Kut-Ku fight, nearly every trap is a valuable asset, so go ahead and load up with whatever you’ve got. You will be given some materials upon mission start, including First Aid Meds, Luring Pods, and Large Dung Pods. Use the Large Dung Pods to scare the other Yian Kut-Kus away. Remember, you only need to focus on one target to complete this event quest. You can use the following attacks, Status Effects, and equipment to pinpoint Yian Kut-Ku’s weaknesses:

  • Recommended Elemental Attacks:
    • Water
    • Ice
    • Thunder
  • Effective Status Effects:
    • Poison: Moderately effective
    • Sleep: Moderately effective
    • Paralysis: Moderately effective
    • Blastblight: Moderately effective
    • Stun: Moderately effective
    • Exhaust: Moderately effective
  • Effective Items:
    • Flash Pod
    • Sonic Bomb
    • Shock Trap
    • Pitfall Trap
  • Weakest Part of the Body: Mouth

It’s best to hit the Yian-Kut Ku’s mouth to deal the most damage. You can also shoot for its head, which is breakable. While on the defensive, watch out for its fiery and ground attacks. This monster will often perform a high-damaging strike in a straight line, so make sure to time your dodges right.
