Colosseum dev reveals Alive & Undead for PSN

Swedish developer Shortfuse Games (best known for their Xbox LIVE indie title Colosseum)  has announced it’s currently developing Alive & Undead, a 2D brawler set to hit PlayStation Network in the fall of 2010.

In the 2-player brawler players choose from Mr. Smith, a vampire Elvis impersonator, or Welson the “femme-fatale witch” hunter. From what it sounds like, Alive & Undead sticks close to the beat ’em up formula, with the announcement promising air juggles and cooperative attacks to crush hordes of undead creatures.

Alive & Undead is a brutal, uncensored vampire quest sprinkled with clichés of both side-scrolling beat ’em ups and sub-culture phenomena,” president of Shortfuse Games Johan Hermerén said in a press release today.

The above piece of artwork gives us an idea of the game’s style, and you can check out video for what looks like references for fighting animations on the barebones Alive & Undead Web site.
