Bandai Namco has released the next DLC expansion for its anime-gothic adventure Code Vein. And, after taking down the burning brimstone of the Hellfire Knight, things are about to get a little chillier, with the arrival of your newest nemesis, the Frozen Empress.

By venturing into the new Celestial Ice Prison depth, players can take on the Frozen Empress in battle, utilising their best offensive and defensive maneuvers to avoid her icy attacks, while blocking buffs offered by her support crystals.

Defeating the Empress will reward players with new weapons and Blood Codes, allowing you to harness her cold abilities for yourself. You will also bag another costume for best buddy Mia. Should you survive this frosty encounter, be sure to venture into the caverns for more further new treasures.

Frozen Empress is available to purchase as standalone DLC for around $10, or is included with the Code Vein season pass, which also includes Hellfire Knight and an as-yet-unreleased expansion for a discounted price of around $25.

Code Vein is available now on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
