Amazon’s acquisition of Killer Instinct developer Double Helix Games was unexpected and the company has only just begun making moves if a recent pair of hires is any indication.

Kotaku is reporting that Portal designer Kim Swift and Far Cry 2 designer Clint Hocking have both joined up with Amazon Game Studios, presumably — but not necessarily — to work on games targeting the Kindle Fire and newly-unveiled Amazon Fire TV.

When this company gets into a new space, it really gets into it. I’m curious to see what kind of impact Amazon will have on gaming and if it’s got more to share beyond the Fire TV.
