Clementine makes her last stand next week in The Walking Dead

You’ve come a long way, baby

It’s something of the end of an era in video game history next week, as Skybound Games releases “Take Us Back”, the last-ever episode of long-running adventure series The Walking Dead.

Since 2012, the now defunct Telltale Studios has told a story of a young girl, Clementine, and her coming-of-age in a desolate and desperate land, populated by terrifying walkers, dangerous bandits and friends who can become foes on a dime. Now, four seasons later, under a different developer, the band rally together for the conclusion to Clem’s sad tale.

Putting together the last chapter of such a lengthy and emotional story is no easy feat I’m sure. You ultimately run the risk of upsetting fans with whatever narrative route you choose to take. Player choice is expected to feature somewhat in the conclusion, but I can’t help but feel the that certain fates may be left out our hands. We shall see.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season: Take Us Back launches on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (via the Epic Games Store) on March 26.
