Class of Heroes 2 turns to Kickstarter for localization

Recommended Videos

MonkeyPaw Games has licensed the Class of Heroes series from Acquire and it plans to start with Class of Heroes II, which will be localized for Europe and the United States. The company has taken to Kickstarter to grow this project beyond a digital release for PlayStation Portable.

Through additional funding, MonkeyPaw and Gaijinworks hope to give the game a Limited Edition Deluxe Pack and “expand the scope of localization for both the digital and physical releases.” This would include stuff along the lines of “extra saves and better controls, smoothing out the user interface experience, and adding perks.”

With a $500,000 goal, I’m anxious to see how this turns out. I have to wonder if there are really enough gamers who dig JRPGs, crave these Deluxe Packs, and are willing to pay up to prove it, or if they’re just a particularly loud vocal minority. All that said, turning to crowd funding for localization is something I can certainly get behind.
