This is the best news I’ve heard all day. NECA, makers of fine toys, are producing a new figure based on the adorable little robot, Claptrap, popularized in the first-person shooter in which he stars, Borderlands.

Currently planned for release in late summer or early fall of this year, the Claptrap toy is expected to measure approximately 4.5″ in height, have fully articulated limbs and antennae, a spinning wheel and display base. Oh, and if that weren’t already cool enough, NECA would also like to make him talk using audio from the game and possibly even all new dialogue to help reflect the sassy robot’s attitude.

This is not the Claptrap toy I really want made, awesome though it may be. I’m absolutely going to buy one or five of them — particularly if they hit their target MSRP of around $15. What I really want is a series of blind box collectible Claptraps featuring the various, company-themed robots we see throughout the game.

What the hell, make it all. I’m going to buy it because I’m a sucker for the little guy. Go check out the original story over at Figures.com to read a hilarious mock-interview with Claptrap about his latest accomplishment.
