City of Heroes gets Blitzed with a new update

Recommended Videos

City of Heroes went free-to-play earlier this year and is already getting a substantial amount of content added to the game. The new Incarnate powers won’t be available to the free-to-play players, but the new powerset will be available for purchase. The rest of the patch notes are available here.

The powerset, Titan Weapons, is featured in the video seen above. It’s available for 800 Paragon Points ($10) and can be used by Brutes, Scrappers, and Tanks. Finally we get to wield gigantic weapons! I’ve always felt as if the War Mace and the other one-handed weapons felt too lightweight for my liking. I still haven’t fully explored the Time Manipulation set so I probably won’t be buying this new set any time soon, but I definitely plan to get my hands on it eventually.

You also may want to wait for a few weeks before jumping back in on the powerset’s coattails since, if history is any indication, at least 80% of every new character being made right now will contain this new powerset. Are new powersets enough to keep you free-to-play players coming back? Would you shell out money for this set in particular?
