Chris Avellone is one of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s writers

His light saber is his pen

We don’t know a whole lot about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It got the most perfunctory reveal at EA’s E3 2018 event, and everyone has stayed mostly mum since then. More recently, developer Respawn has said it’ll be properly shown at next month’s Star Wars Celebration event.

Whatever Jedi: Fallen Order ends up being, at least we know it’s in the capable hands of one of the most famed role-playing game writers around. Chris Avellone has confirmed that he just wrapped up work as a writer on Respawn’s Star Wars game. Avellone has a lot of notches in his bed post, with writing credits on classics like Fallout 2, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Planescape: Torment, Fallout: New Vegas, and Pillars of Eternity.

EA and Respawn have kept Jedi: Fallen Order a mystery, which sort of skews the mental perception around this game. Like, it seems weird to find out about Avellone’s involvement only after he has already finished his work. But, Jedi: Fallen Order is set to release sometime in 2019 — it’s really not that far out. There’s going to be a new Star Wars game soon, and it’s really gonna sneak up on us.
