Bad day to be a good hero…

Square Enix has dropped a lengthy gameplay video taken from their upcoming superhero slugfest Marvel’s Avengers, which launches in 2020 on PS4, PC and Xbox One.

The notorious “A-Day” prologue (doubling as a tutorial for the game) was showcased to the press at E3 in June and features a disastrous episode for our team of super-powered besties, as they respond to a terrifying attack on San Francisco, perpetrated by The Taskmaster.

Over the duration of the near-20 minute clip, we see Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, The Hulk and Thor fight hard in a valiant – but ultimately fruitless – effort to prevent the supervillain from laying waste to The Golden Gate Bridge.

In an official blog post, Square Enix noted that they had made “updates and improvements… to the visual fidelity, character models, animations, and more.” from the previous gameplay showcases held at E3 and San Diego Comic Con. Marvel’s Avengers is scheduled to launch May 15, 2020 on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Google Stadia
