How to complete Chapter 1: All You Need is Honey in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Immediately after entering Honeyglow Woods’ tree portal, you’ll complete Prologue: Childhood Treasures and begin this quest. Your first goal is to explore Drowsybloom Acre in search of Winnie the Pooh.

Talk to Winnie the Pooh

When you’re ready to venture forward, head down the path from the portal across the wooden bridge until you spot Winnie the Pooh in the center of the biome. He’s a little confused at first, but after some talking, he’ll explain Honeyglow Woods’ current situation. The two of you will start with removing the nearby Honey Swirls.

After removing the swirls surrounding Pooh, you’ll find a small honeypot to give to him. The two of you will then play hide-and-seek to celebrate this occasion.

Play hide-and-seek with Winnie the Pooh

The two of you will now begin a match of hide-and-seek. Winnie the Pooh’s first hiding spot is next to the house near where you first found him, right in front of a mining spot. Take a picture of him to progress through this part of the quest.

Pooh will go and hide again. This time, he’s between two nears in the center of the biome, close to where you found him during the conversation earlier in this quest. Take a picture of him to begin another hide-and-seek round.

Pooh’s next hiding spot is slightly trickier, with him located between a tree and the nearby river. If you’re starting from the previous spot, turn towards the wooden bridge where you originally came from, head towards it, then turn left once you’re in front of the bridge to find Pooh behind a fence.

His final spot is next to a cooking station. From the previous spot, turn towards the cabin before panning the camera left to find Pooh bear behind a small tree. Talk to him again to wrap up your game of hide-and-seek. He’ll drop a Memory Shard after the conversation, revealing him standing in front of a stack of beehives.

Find the ingredients needed to remove the overgrown Twistroots

After following Winnie the Pooh to another part of the river, you’ll find a second Memory Shard in the form of a note. Reading it will tell you more about how to start beekeeping. After telling Pooh about it, the two of you determine that you’ll need to find the following items:

  • Three Oak Leaves
  • Two Driftwood
  • One Shiny Honey Agate

You’ll find Oak Leaves underneath the nearby tree stumps and fully-grown trees, while driftwood is available by fishing outside of the river’s ripples. Shiny Honey Agate appears in any mining rocks that have exposed gems, similar to regular base game minerals.

Once you have all three items, return to Pooh to create a Diggy-Wiggy Potion. Using the potion will let you break the nearby overgrown Twistroots using your shovel, letting you access the Busy Bees’ boxes.

Craft the Busy Bees’ House

Your next task is to collect four Busy Bees’ boxes to remake their house. You’ll find two behind the overgrown Twistroots that we’re now able to break thanks to the potion from the previous quest section. The other two are in the middle of the river’s ripples. Fish for both boxes before using the crafting station next to the cabin to make the Busy Bees’ House.

Once you craft the Busy Bees’ House, return to Winnie the Pooh. This conversation marks the beginning of a Beekeeping tutorial, telling you to place the house near wildflowers to start producing honey. For now, place the house anywhere within Drowsybloom Acre before surrounding it with flowers. The quest asks for three flowers, but to produce honey faster, you’ll want to place up to six. This’ll let you produce one honey every ten minutes.

Claim Golden Honey from the Busy Bees’ House

If you plant six or more flowers around the Busy Bees’ House, you’ll produce one Golden Honey every ten minutes. This means that, even in optimal conditions, you’ll need to wait ten minutes to proceed through the quest.

In the meantime, Disney Dreamlight Valley gives you the following optional tasks to complete:

  • Clear five Honey Swirls
  • Pick up five Oak Leaves
  • Gather five Driftwood

While you’re mainly doing this to help tidy up Drowsybloom Acre, gathering Oak Leaves and Driftwood will ready you for future quests requiring you to craft more items, making these worthwhile to complete while you’re waiting for your Golden Honey to appear. Honey Swirls drop small amounts of money to pick up, making them handy to clear away, too. You can also use this time to travel around the biome and discover its ingredients.

Once you collect your Golden Honey, head to the nearby cooking station and use it alongside one Sweet Chestnut, which you can find in a tree next to the cabin, to make a Honeycrunch Bar. Give it to Pooh to complete the quest.
