If you’ve been following our coverage of Atlus’ sexy new game Catherine, you probably already have an idea as to what the story is about, based on the wealth of suggestive imagery and cryptic trailers and whatnot spread across the internet by the folks behind Persona. If you haven’t, though, fear not, for they’ve gone ahead and more or less spelled out the basic premise.
Put simply, Catherine is about how betraying your girlfriend gives you horrible nightmares that will kill you if you can’t wake up. At least, that’s what happens to Vincent, who, in a fit of marriage-proposal-induced panic, sleeps with the youthful Catherine, rather than his girlfriend of five years, Katherine.
And then nightmares, which Vincent himself hinted to during his brief Persona 3 Portable cameo.
Check out the official site, which has new artwork and voice samples, as well.
