Catherine patch details: Assist option and more retrys

Recommended Videos

You likely heard that Catherine was difficult enough to make Atlus work on a patch to make it more accessible for gamers. Now some details have come out for this upcoming patch, which is going to make easy mode even easier.

If you read our preview of Catherine you’ll know that even easy mode is a bitch. Normal mode is punishing. I died 16 times in a row in level two on Normal. Level two! The patch will make easy mode actually easy, says Siliconera

Beyond this, they’re adding an assist option for players to help them beat the game. Even then you’ll still die often, and for that Atlus said they’ve relaxed the limit on retries. The retries are already fairly generous on easy, but you blow through them all so quickly that you sometimes have to restart from your last save. Yes, it’s that hard!

There isn’t a release date for the patch, but I’m sure it’s coming soon. Atlus’ Katsura Hashino said that they’re working as quickly as possible to get it out, and for that reason they’re keeping the patch minimal. He also teased an event scene viewer for a future patch. That would be fantastic.

Thanks for all of this, Atlus.
