Catch Square Enix’s live SQ music event on Ustream

Recommended Videos

Small game music concerts are becoming all the rage in Japan these days as there’s seemingly one taking place every few weeks.  While fans abroad can sometimes catch smaller events live on Ustream, it’s rare for a high-profile company like Square Enix to broadcast such an event for fans who aren’t at the event itself.  Later this week, however, Square Enix will be doing just that with its SQ Party LEVEL1 concert  set to take place at the 2.5D venue in Tokyo, Japan.

The event will feature several SQ series remixers performing their arrangements from across the Love SQ, Chill SQ, More SQ, SQ Chips, and perhaps even the upcoming Cafe SQ arrangement albums.  It’s set to begin at 20:00 on September 29, 2011 in Tokyo, meaning it will be an early 4:00 AM PST and 7:00 AM EST.  It should be pretty awesome if you can tune in, however, as some of my favorite arrangers are performing, including RE:NDZ and SEXY-SYNTHESIZER along with several others.  You can watch it live on the official 2.5D Ustream channel here.

Do events like these make you wish game music was bigger outside of Japan, and will you be taking advantage of the broadcast by tuning in Thursday morning?
