Talk about random! It seems that Hollywood, ever starving for ideas, has its eyes on a certain red-hatted thief who hasn’t been relevant in a long time. Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? is becoming a movie, and Jennifer Lopez might be taking the title role. There she goes, doing her acting again!

The adaptation is allegedly being written by Darren Lemke, known mostly for his work on Shrek Forever and the upcoming Jack the Giant Killer. Ms. Lopez herself is a producer, alongside Benny Medina, Simon Fields, Nick Osbourne, Trevor Engelson and Devin Andre.

Though this is the first many have heard about the film, talk about it did come up last year, when word first surfaced that Carmen Sandiego was being used as a vehicle to showcase Lopez’s talents. Now it seems to be gathering some real steam. Hooray?

The plot revolves around Carmen’s former detective partner, who tries to track down the master criminal. Naturally, a bigger scheme is at play and Carmen’s true status as a hero or villain comes into question. Also, the film will probably be shit.
