What kind of racing game do you think of when you hear of a game called Cargasm? Is it arcade-like with strong leanings toward the kart racer genre and possibly cell-shading or is it a game where you race around actual city streets in stylish sports cars?

It’s the former for me too, but we’re both dead wrong. Candella Software and Saga Wonderworks have just announced Cargasm and it is indeed a real-world sports car racer (though they do describe it as heralding the return of the classic arcade racer.) The new game, void of real cars and licenses, is full of what they claim are the most realistic racing courses ever in videogames. This is thanks to the fact that they scanned all the courses in each area (San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, London, Mount Kilmanjaro, Egypt, Switzerland are listed) with lasers, thus making buildings, streets and even lamp posts accurate to within inches. Kinda neato if the graphics didn’t look so dull.

But what would street racing be without some form of female subjugation? Aside from the normal trophy and new car winning that takes place in most racing games, players will also be able to create a harem of Cargasm girls by racing well. It’s not quite clear what that means exactly, but it is clear that you’ll be able to share this accomplishment over Facebook and other social networks if you so wish.

Cargasm will be landing on the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation Portable and iPhone. No release date yet, but screenshots below.
